Rapeseed lack of boron supplement

Rape is a highly sensitive crop for boron, and it needs a large amount of boron, especially the double-low rape promoted in recent years needs more boron and is particularly sensitive to boron. At present, most farmers' friends have not attached great importance to the application of boron fertilizer, so they often cause a large area of rapeseed production, and even crop failure.
The lack of boron in rape can generally be judged by observing the roots, leaves, stems, flowers, and fruits.
First look at the "root", when the soil is seriously deficient in boron in the seedling stage, the young roots stop growing, there is no root hair or lateral roots, the root bark becomes brown, and the cortex cracks.
Second, look at the "leaves", the lack of boron in the seedling young leaves chlorosis brown, spread to the entire growing point, easy to die. During the middle period of the flood season, the middle part of the plant is dark green, and the leaf quality is thicker. It is brittle, rewinds, and shrinks. The leaf edge turns purple and changes to blue-purple and the leaves fall off in advance. Brassica napus grows from the leaf margin to purple in the entire leaf. During the wintering period, the red leaves mostly appear in the middle and lower parts. After the flowering period, the upper middle functional leaves also appear purple due to lack of boron.
The third is to look at the "stem". The boron-deficient rapeseed pods are slowly extended or longitudinally fractured. The stems grow stagnant. In severe cases, the xylem hollows are yellow-brown or rooted. Longitudinal cracking occurs in the lower cortex of the stem.
The fourth is to look at "flowers and fruit". Rape "flowers but not real" is a typical symptom of boron deficiency. In flower and fruit stage, the buds of the inflorescence at the top of the inflorescence faded from green to yellow, shrinking and wilting or falling off, and flowering was not normal. There was no seedling or only a few malformed pods were formed, and the yield was sharply reduced or rejected. The content of boron in normal rapeseed leaves is above 20 mg/kg, while that of boron-deficient rapeseed leaves is often less than 10 mg/kg.
The method of applying boron fertilizer in rapeseed generally includes three kinds: base fertilizer, topdressing fertilizer and seed fertilizer. The current sales of boron are mainly borax, boric acid, etc., but mainly borax.
The first is basal fat. That is, the boron fertilizer is applied to the soil before the rapeseed or transplanted rapeseed, and the whole growth and development needs of the crop are provided. Boron deficiency in soils, 0.5 kg per 667 square meters with borax 15 kg dry soil mixed with fine manure or fertilizer into the soil mixing application, but can not make direct contact with the seeds or roots boron.
The second is top dressing. In the later stage of rapeseed flower bud differentiation, convulsions (15 to 30 cm in height), flowering time, spray 0.2% borax aqueous solution or 0.1% boric acid aqueous solution, and 50 liters of fertilizer solution per 667 square meters. If it rains after spraying, re-spray is required.
Third, with the application. The application of boron fertilizer in combination with farmyard fertilizers and chemical fertilizers can better exert its potential for yield increase. Use of 0.5 kg borax per 667 square meters with other fertilizers is better.
