Reporter: Recently, there have been many disputes about the safety of nickel-chromium alloy porcelain teeth on the Internet. One of the viewpoints is: "Ni-Cr alloy porcelain teeth can cause adverse reactions such as human allergies, and the relevant state departments should ban the use. ". Is nickel-chromium alloy porcelain really "dangerous"? Please talk about the safety issues and precautions for nickel-chromium alloy porcelain teeth.
Zhao Xinyi: I think that people who hold this view do not understand the history, development and management of biological materials in the human body. First of all, we must understand a basic common sense that the application of biological materials to the human body is normal. Biomaterials are used in humans to replace parts of tissues or organs (such as nichrome porcelain teeth) in order to repair damaged tissues and organs to restore their function. This is a last resort. No matter how good the biological materials are, it is not as good as the body's own organization. As the saying goes, it is a three-drug poison, as is the biological material used in the human body. Any biological material applied to the human body will have some adverse reactions to the human body.

It is obviously unscientific to negate this material because of an adverse reaction from an individual.
Reporter: Nickel-chromium alloy porcelain teeth should be such a kind of dental material. So how is the risk of its use controlled?
Zhao Xinyi: Nickel-chromium alloy porcelain teeth have many advantages and there are also safety risks. From the application history, nickel-chromium alloy porcelain teeth play a very important role in serving humans. It meets the needs of dental rehabilitation for the majority of low- and middle-income people. Relative to its benefits, the adverse reactions caused by it, whether it is the incidence rate or the degree of harm, are relatively small, and most of the adverse reactions are local and affordable. If the patient is unwilling to accept the adverse reactions that occur, the adverse reactions will disappear by removing the nickel-chromium alloy porcelain teeth. It can be seen that the risk of nickel-chromium alloy porcelain teeth being potentially harmful to the human body is acceptable, and the risk of adverse reactions can be further reduced by measures such as selecting a patient by the dentist.
As for whether Nichrome porcelain teeth will cause irreparable damage to important organs of the human body, there is still no evidence in this regard.
