Small rake correct installation

Small-sized rakes are commonly used to cut green and dry corn stalks, wheat stalks, rice straw, and other types of forage suitable for livestock. These machines are also useful in returning straw to the fields for agricultural improvement. However, many issues arise during operation due to improper use or maintenance by some operators. This article focuses on a 9Z-2.5 type mower and provides guidance on the correct installation of a typical small mower. First, before installation, it's essential to determine the power source—whether it's a single-cylinder diesel engine, an electric motor, or a small four-wheel tractor. Based on the "Product Operation Manual," you should choose the appropriate power unit and ensure proper transmission between the power source and the mower. Next, check if the pulley diameter of the power unit matches that of the rake. It’s important to ensure that the rotational speed of the rake meets the specifications. For example, the 9Z-2.0 model operates at 800 revolutions per minute (rpm). If a small diesel engine is used as the power source, it should be securely mounted on a concrete floor. The engine should also be adjustable forward and backward to properly tighten the belt. When using a small four-wheel tractor, remove the two casters from the grass end of the machine. Then, connect the tractor's central rod with the pin shaft located in the middle of the rake frame. Attach the two hanging brackets to the caster axles and secure them with bolts. Finally, adjust the V-belt using the central strap to ensure it is tight and flexible. If an electric motor is used, install a universal motor base to align the motor shaft with the rake's shaft and ensure the pulleys are properly aligned. The direction of the turf machine spindle should match the arrow marked on the housing. Additionally, a control switch for the motor power should be placed near the work area, allowing for easy on/off operation. Lastly, the rake must be installed smoothly, and all protective covers should be in place. The direction of the grass cutting should follow the natural wind direction. If the machine is difficult to move, you can adjust the position by moving the grass out of the way. By following these steps, users can ensure safe and efficient operation of the small mower, reducing the risk of mechanical failure and improving overall performance. Proper installation not only extends the life of the equipment but also enhances its effectiveness in agricultural tasks.
