Small rake correct installation

Small-sized rakes are commonly used for cutting green and dry corn stalks, wheat stalks, rice straw, and other types of livestock feed. They are also effective in returning straw to the fields for agricultural use. However, many issues can arise during operation if the equipment is not properly installed or maintained. This article focuses on the correct installation of a typical small mower, using the 9Z-2.5 model as an example. Before installation, it's essential to determine the power source—whether it's a single-cylinder diesel engine, an electric motor, or a small four-wheel tractor. Based on the "Product Operation Manual," you should choose the appropriate power unit and ensure proper transmission setup. Next, check that the pulley diameter of the power source matches the rake’s pulley size. Also, confirm that the rake’s rotational speed meets the manufacturer’s specifications. For instance, the 9Z-2.0 model operates at 800 revolutions per minute (rpm). If a small diesel engine is being used, it should be securely mounted on a concrete floor. The engine should also be adjustable forward and backward to allow for belt tensioning. When using a small four-wheel tractor as the power source, remove the two casters from the grass end of the rake. Then, connect the tractor’s central rod to the pin shaft located in the middle of the rake frame. Attach the two hanging brackets to the caster axles and secure them with bolts. Finally, use the central strap to adjust the V-belt so that it is tight and flexible. If an electric motor is used, a universal motor base should be employed to ensure the motor shaft is parallel to the rake’s shaft and the two pulleys are aligned. The direction of the turf machine spindle should match the arrow indicated on the housing. Additionally, a control switch for the motor power should be placed near the working area to allow quick power on/off operations. Lastly, the rake must be installed smoothly, and all protective covers should be in place. Ensure that the grass flow aligns with the natural wind direction. If the machine is difficult to move, you can lift it out of the grass to facilitate movement. Proper installation and maintenance not only improve efficiency but also extend the lifespan of the equipment, ensuring safe and effective operation in the field.
