Due to the strong seismic waves, biogas digesters mainly cause structural damage such as overall destruction, cracking, misalignment, and sinking, and two types of damage to biogas supporting equipment due to house damage.

(I) Destruction of digester structure

The overall destruction means that the biogas pool is distorted, fractured, broken, and collapsed as a result of strong seismic waves. Tensile cracking means that the digester wall, arch cover, and water pressure tank wall cause cracks and cracks under strong seismic waves, resulting in leakage of the biogas digester. Dislocation means that the biogas digester is under the influence of the seismic shear wave, causing misalignment between the feed pipe, water pressure, arch cover, and the junction of the digester pool wall, resulting in water leakage. Subsidence refers to the fact that the biogas pool is under the action of seismic longitudinal waves, which causes the overall sinking of the digester pool.

(b) Damage to the biogas supporting equipment

Pipeline damage mainly refers to the loss, fracture, dislocation, bending, deformation and other damage of the biogas pipeline along with the damaged house wall. The damage of the governor mainly refers to the destruction of other fallen objects, the looseness of the governor and the gas pipe joint, the damage of the internal structure, and the contact of the desulfurizer with the air-heated burnout desulfurizer. Biogas stove damage mainly refers to the destruction of other falling objects, loosening or detachment from the gas pipe joints, and contact with rainwater rust due to damage to the house.

Post-earthquake biogas detection

Determine whether the digester is damaged, mainly from the pipeline is not damaged, biogas pressure readings, water pressure level changes, arch cover cracks and other four indicators to determine.

The first step is to detect biogas supporting equipment, including the appearance of pipes, fittings, regulators, and cooking appliances. The second step is to check the reading of the biogas pressure gauge. The third step is to check the water pressure and water level. The fourth step is to detect the methane tank arch cover. The fifth step is to empty the liquid and test the cell body.

Pipeline detection methods are: First, direct observation of the pipeline is off, deformation, loose. The second is to smear pipe joints with soapy water to observe if any air bubbles are generated and determine if the pipe is leaking. Under the premise of ensuring that the biogas supporting equipment is intact, observe the reading of the biogas pressure gauge. If the reading is below 1, it indicates that the digester is damaged. Observe the changes in the water level between the water pressure in the digester. If the fluctuation range exceeds 20-30cm, the digester is damaged. Open the cover of the methane tank and cover the soil to observe if there is any crack. If the crack exceeds 3mm, the methane tank is damaged.

After determining the damage of the digester and determining the location of the damage, three methods of maintenance, such as structural damage repair, seepage and leakage repair, and general maintenance, are used.

(A) structural damage repair

Biogas tanks are cracked and repaired. The crack was chiseled into a "V" shaped trough, first brushed with pure cement slurry, filled with C20 fine stone concrete, compacted and troweled. After the concrete was solidified, it was brushed with pure grout for 3-4 times. Dislocation maintenance. Dig out the mud in the misaligned area of ​​the biogas digester and roughen the misplaced area. Fill the C20 fine stone concrete. After the concrete is solidified, plaster and brush the pure cement slurry. Sinking damage repair. The integrated sinking methane tank with undamaged main structure reconnects the pipe to the air pipe.

(b) Biogas Leakage Leakage Maintenance

Seepage maintenance. In the water seepage part, the fast water glass blocks the water seepage hole. If the seepage water flow is large and the water pressure is high, insert the soft plastic pipe into the water seepage hole first, and then use 1:1 cement mortar and water glass to block it around, then plug it with a cork. Plastic nozzle, brush 1:1 cement mortar. Leakage maintenance. Rinse the interior of the air box first and then brush it with pure cement for 3 times.

(c) General maintenance

Eradicating the shells and spalling areas of biogas digesters, remove the hairs, rinse them, and re-do the seven-layer method of “three wipes and four brushes”.
