Tropical fruits don’t all get angry

In recent years, tropical fruits have become a common part of everyday meals in many households. However, there's still a lot of confusion about their properties. Many people believe that because fruits like durian, lychee, and coconut are considered "hot" and easy to consume, all tropical fruits are also hot. This is not entirely true. In fact, there are several tropical fruits that are cooling in nature, and choosing the right one based on your body type can make a big difference. Common "hot" tropical fruits include coconuts, lychees, durians, longans, bayberries, and papayas. On the other hand, "cooling" options such as bananas, sugarcane, dragon fruit, grapefruit, goji berries, mangoes, starfruit, pineapples, and mangosteen are great for those who tend to feel overheated. Fruits like olives, lemons, and plums fall into the "neutral" category—they are neither too hot nor too cold. If you often experience symptoms like constipation, mouth ulcers, dry mouth, sore throat, a red tongue, or a yellow coating on your tongue—signs that your body may be "too hot"—you should limit your intake of lychees and avoid drinking too much coconut milk. Conversely, if you tend to feel cold, have cold hands and feet, frequent urination, or a pale tongue with white coating, it’s best to avoid cooling fruits like dragon fruit and mangosteen, even if they look tempting. Additionally, certain groups should be more cautious. Women, especially during menstruation or after childbirth, individuals with colds, the elderly, and young children should eat fewer or no cooling tropical fruits. It's also important to note that most tropical fruits are sensitive to cold and shouldn't be stored in the refrigerator for long. Instead, keep them in a cool, dark place. If refrigeration is necessary, use a high-temperature vegetable and fruit compartment and try not to keep them for more than two days.
