??Morphological characteristics??
Adult worms are about 25 mm in length and about 75 mm in wingspan. They are yellow-winged and white in compound, black in compound eyes, dark brown in tentacles, female-like, and short-pitch. There are four dark spots on the back of the chest that are trapezoidal. Before and after the wings are distributed with different sizes of gray and black spots.
Eggs are oval, green, dark brown before hatching, dozens of pieces into a block.
The larvae are about 55 mm in length and have a brownish-brown head with numerous white granules. The top line is dark brown with wide yellow bands on both sides with irregular black curves. The 3rd and 4th sections of the ankle were significantly enlarged. There were 2 oval-shaped black eye spots on the back, and 1 month crescent-shaped black lines on each side. A pair of yellow and pink toe hooks have a double longitudinal sequence.

Life history and habits Two generations in North China are born in winter. The wintering sites are different during different wintering periods. Generally, the overwintering adult's emergence period is from late May to late July, and from late June to July. In the early days, the emergence period of the first generation of adults is from late July to mid-September, and the peak period is from August to the end of August. Adults grow into nights and have phototaxis. The adult life span is about 10 days. Each female lays 200 to 600 eggs, many of which reach more than a thousand grains, and the egg period is about 8 days. The first generation larvae lived in mid-July and late July. The 2nd generation larvae have an endurance period in the middle and early September. The newly hatched larvae cluster damage slightly. About 28 days of larval stage, most of the phlegm in the vicinity of the host in the wet soil, non-overwintering period of about 15 days. The second-generation larvae began to mature in mid-September in the beginning of the winter.
