Rabbits choose five kinds

When reviewing original records, it is essential to strictly follow the data as presented. Pay close attention to the completeness and accuracy of the information. Carefully examine the selected data based on the actual figures provided, rather than making decisions based on superficial observations or personal biases. It is recommended to select breeding rabbits from the third to fifth litters, as this period has been proven to be an optimal time for identifying high-quality individuals. The number of rabbits selected for breeding should be significantly higher than the required numbers—three to four times more for females and five to ten times more for males. Female rabbits must have at least eight teats, with a balanced and full appearance. Those that have two or three consecutive litters with fewer than four live births, or four consecutive litters with less than four surviving offspring, should be excluded. Additionally, females with low milk production, poor maternal instincts, or those that are prone to illness or parasites should not be retained. Male rabbits must be chosen with even greater care and strictness. They should come from purebred lines, be healthy, disease-free, well-developed, and show strong vitality. Their testicles should be firm, symmetrical, and fully descended. Males with abnormal growth, single testicles, cryptorchidism, or dull behavior and low sexual drive should not be used for breeding. Each selected individual must meet the established standards, ensuring consistency with national breeding guidelines and selection criteria. Over time, as the population's genetic pool becomes more limited, the inbreeding coefficient will inevitably increase. To prevent negative effects from inbreeding, new bloodlines should be introduced periodically. Exchanging rabbits with nearby rabbit farms is also an effective strategy to maintain genetic diversity and improve overall herd quality.
