"You married me, and I broke," I said dramatically, my voice cracking as fresh tears welled up in my eyes. You just chuckled softly, your hand moving rhythmically over my back as you tried to soothe me. It was our honeymoon, and here I was—crying, sick, and somehow managing to ruin even something as magical as a romantic getaway. I remember how you fed me medicine, brought me warm soup, and even stocked up on tissues from the hotel gift shop. At least the coughing fit only lasted the first couple of days, leaving the rest of our Caribbean adventure blissfully symptom-free—until I decided to throw my back out during a friendly game of water volleyball with some new friends we'd met.

Fast forward to last night. We were finally winding down after another long day, and I was popping painkillers like they were vitamins while you applied soothing cream to my neck. You joked that it felt like Groundhog Day, except this time it wasn’t the cold—it was my stubborn determination to make every vacation memorable, even if it meant adding a bit of physical therapy to the mix. As usual, I drifted off to sleep under your gentle ministrations, grateful for your patience and care.

Eight years later, here we are. Despite everything—my dramatic breakdowns, the endless supply of tissues, and the occasional need for a chiropractor—you’re still the rock of our relationship. You’ve been the backbone of our family, inspiring not just me but everyone around you to be better. Thank you for eight incredible years of unwavering support, countless back rubs, and those early morning breakfasts that saved me from skipping meals entirely. Thank you for sharing sunrises and sunsets with me, moments that remind me why I fell in love with you in the first place.

I adore you, sweetheart. Happy Anniversary! Here's to many more years of laughter, love, and maybe even a few more trips where I can “contribute” in my own unique way.
