(1) Seed Selection: Choosing high-quality seed varieties is a crucial step in producing pollution-free Chinese cabbage.
1. Select disease- and pest-resistant varieties to minimize pesticide use, thus reducing environmental contamination. Based on the common pests and diseases in the growing area, choose appropriate resistant varieties.
2. Select varieties that suit local cultivation conditions, consumer preferences, and market demands. Opt for high-yielding, commercially viable seeds that meet the standards set by GB16715-1999. Avoid using genetically modified varieties to ensure natural and safe production.
(2) Seed Treatment:
1. Chemical seed coating: Apply 0.2% to 0.3% of 50% acetamiprid wettable powder, or 47% mancozeb wettable powder at 0.3% of the seed weight, or 50% dithianon wettable powder at 0.4% of the seed weight. Alternatively, use 50g of Fengling per 150g of seeds to protect against downy mildew, soft rot, black rot, and other diseases.
2. Warm water soaking: Soak seeds in 50°C warm water for 25 minutes, then allow them to cool before sowing to control black spot disease.
(3) Pest Control in the Sowing Area: In regions where underground pests are severe, apply 5% Supbo emulsion diluted 1000–2000 times before sowing, or spray 25% Sevin WP diluted 150–400 times and mix it with fine soil to improve pest control effectiveness. This helps prevent damage from root pests and ensures healthy plant growth from the start.
